The films
A film for each match
Made by the club, with no prior knowledge assumed. Every word spoken also appears on screen, so they work with the sound off.
Air Pistol
Ten metres, indoors, and a great deal quieter than you expect. Where most people start.
50m Pistol
The longest shot in Olympic pistol shooting, fired one-handed with no support of any kind.
25m Pistol & Centre Fire
One match, two halves, and they could not be less alike. Slow precision, then turning targets.
Standard Pistol
Five shots, one target, and a clock that keeps getting faster: 150 seconds, then 20, then 10.
Rapid Fire Pistol
Five targets, five shots, as little as four seconds. The fastest match on the Olympic programme.
Service Pistol
Four distances, four firing positions, and a pistol drawn from a holster. It comes out of duty shooting and still looks like it.
Black Powder
Thirteen shots, thirty minutes, and a cloud of smoke after every one. The same sport, shot with the technology of a century and a half ago.
