Annual fixtures
The memorial matches
These matches commemorate members who contributed significantly to the club over the years. Some have been running for more than half a century.
Badcoe Memorial Shoot
A Centrefire competition held each February to commemorate the life of Major Peter Badcoe VC, a past member of the club. Instituted on completion of the Kentlyn range, it was the first ever graded club teams match and remains one of the longest-running team matches in the country.
Kathy Renfrey Memorial
A 25m Pistol event held each April, open to both women and men. Kathy was Secretary of CLDPC for many years and was well known throughout the shooting community — she was instrumental in leading the club out of the wilderness.
John Davidson Memorial
The “Davo”, as it is affectionately known, is a Centrefire, 25m Pistol and Black Powder match usually held in November. John was a bit of a character and widely known in the pistol shooting community. When he died, his ashes were fired from a cannon across the Lightning Ridge range.
The Campbelltown Memorial Competition in June incorporates "The Kathy" and the Wally Wright Memorial award across Centrefire, Sports Pistol and Air Pistol, alongside the club's Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council. A Ladies Social Match is also held in May.
Juniors
Junior shooters welcome
Competition gives juniors the chance to develop their skills, meet other shooters and enjoy being part of the sport. We welcome enquiries from junior shooters and their families about suitable events at CLDPC.
